INTRODUCTION
The way you enter a new year influences the level and dimension of results you experience in the year. If you enter a year prepared, you are well-positioned to command results with less stress and maximize the best that the year has to offer; but if you enter into a year unprepared, you will likely miss out on timely results.
Every great act of God requires genuine preparation to fully maximize it. Not to prepare is to be readily prepared for poor performance. The depth of your preparation influences the height of your full manifestation and operation in life.
“So Jotham became mighty because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.”
2 Chronicles 27:6.
Preparation affects performances; preparation positions you for profitable manifestations in life. When you are not prepared, you easily make avoidable mistakes and commit costly errors that can hinder advancement.
Every year is loaded with both good and evil, and it is the level of your preparation that positions you to fully maximize the goodness of the year.
The scriptures unveil that each year is loaded with evil that is sufficient for each day and also daily loading of benefits.
“...Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34
“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”
Psalm 68:19
Prayer is one of God’s provisions for preparing the way ahead in the journey of life for smoothness, soundness and solid results.
When you refuse to pray, you can easily become prey; prayer positions you to prevail in life. If you are not prayerful, you have little chance of prevailing in life.
Until Jabez prayed, he couldn’t prevail, and when he connected with God on the altar of prayer, he entered his season of victory and triumph.
“And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh, that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:9-10.
WHY PRAY YOUR WAY TO THE NEW YEAR?
The level of result you command in the kingdom of God is directly traceable to the level of your understanding, and to lack understanding is to cheaply miss out of the full profit loaded in kingdom commitments.
“Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.” Proverbs 16:22
Understanding empowers you for outstanding results and keeps you from remaining under in the journey of life.
Jesus in one of his parables unveils that understanding is a necessity to profit in this kingdom.
“Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.”
Matthew 13:18-19.
Based on this parable, the lack of understanding in this set of people denied them the profits attached to the kingdom practice, the lack of understanding gave room for the wicked one to catch away what should move them forward.
However, the set of people that embraced understanding commanded results in relation to the level of their understanding.
“But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Matthew 13:23.
May your understanding be quickened in Jesus’ name. The following are some scriptural revelations of why you need to pray your way to the New Year.
1. Prayer is one of God’s undeniable provisions for downloading the divine resources of heaven. Without prayer, the resources of heaven apportioned for humanity will remain undelivered. Prayer is the earthly trigger for pulling down divine resources, it is the earthly channel for downloading what has been heavenly uploaded.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.”
Jeremiah 29:11-14.
Many times, the thoughts of God does not culminate into manifestation in your life without you taking responsibility to pull it down on the altar of prayer. From the text above, the Lord himself said I know the thoughts I have for you; however, you don’t get to feature in this future without you calling upon me as God said, pray and also seek.
Therefore, prayer is necessary for the downloading of divine benefits. Every year is loaded with Divine resources and benefits but they don’t just come down, they are provoked on the altar of prayer.
2. You need to pray your way into the New Year in order to defeat the operations of the wicked and hindrances in the year. Prayer is essential for defeating and triumphing over the work of evil. Not to pray is to easily be positioned as prey. Prayer sets you up for victory and triumph. When Jesus teaches his disciples to pray, a major part of what prayer is loaded with to make happen is unveiled.
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name... And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil…” Matthew 6:9, 13
Hence, prayer is needed to be delivered from evil, and if there is no evil, Jesus would not have said ‘after this manner pray’. Prayer is an overcoming force that positions you to overcome satanic attacks.
Every year is full of evil, but with prayer, you overcome, prevail and triumph over all forms of evil. Prayer is a divine tool for defeating evil and escaping disaster in life.
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Luke 22:31-32
3. You need to pray your way to the New Year because your capacity to possess is a function of your empowerment. Not to be empowered is to be cheaply frustrated and defeated.
Prayer positions you for empowerment as part of the deliverables of prayer is power. Prayer is a power generator and power enthroned you for dominion.
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
Acts 4:31.

For you to enjoy the blessedness of prayer, you need to be in the right connection with the God to whom you pray. The level of your collections in God’s kingdom is rooted in the depth of your connection with God.
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” James 4:8
Living a life that is against the will of God always closes doors against the manifestation of God’s provision in your life. Prayer is good and profitable but it only delivers when the right connection with God is in place.
According to scriptures, God does not hear the prayers of sinners; they may pray, but there is no guarantee of result. The prayer that God answers is the prayer of the saint.
“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. John 9:31
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall
be abomination. Proverbs 28:9
Therefore, if you sincerely desire to enjoy God’s full provision, you need to first accept God’s own condition. The word of God is clear on what God desires you seek first to enjoy the Best on earth.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33.
All other things are to be added but you must first seek His kingdom, and to have access to this Kingdom, you must accept the Lordship of His only begotten Son. – Jesus Christ. He is the way, life, and truth. There is no other way to the father except through him. Pray these prayers with me as you surrender to God and his will.
‘Lord Jesus, I acknowledge I am a sinner, I believe you died for me to live, I confess my sins to you today, have mercy upon me and save me. I receive you today as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me, I am born again in Jesus’ name.’
